Sports and
Athletics
All fifth and sixth graders take physical education class during the
school day and explore a variety of sports and other
physical activities, including dance.

girls fencing, girls and boys basketball, girls and
boys lacrosse, baseball, and softball. Practices take
place during the school day; games are scheduled after

Middle schoolers with an interest in performing have
many avenues to pursue their passions and develop their
skills.
Talent Shows
Open to all middle school students, two times a year.
MastersSingers
Our select choir, open to all students by audition,
sings at concerts, talent shows, and other school events.
Orchestra

participate in the Orchestra which performs throughout
the year.
Music Lessons
Private lessons are offered on almost every instrument,
including voice, and take place during the school day.
Art exhibits

masterpieces.
Winter Concert
The entire Middle School takes part in this holiday
concert, held in December.
Musical/Play
Each spring the seventh and eighth graders present a
musical or play. In recent years, "Music Man," "Peter Pan,"
"Once Upon a Mattress," and "The Little
Princess," were mounted. Cast and tech crew are
selected by audition.
Eighth Grade
Arts Night
At the end of the school year, eighth graders present their original
works to an audience of classmates, teachers, and parents.
Community
Service
The Masters School’s community service organization,
MISH (Masters Interested in Sharing and Helping), plays
an important part in everyone’s life. Although
not required, each and every student participates in
MISH service projects. Whether through Friday Jeans
Days; pitching in at Special Olympics; joining a fund-raising
walk; participating at a soup kitchen; or other events,
MISH offers countless opportunities to learn about the
needs of others, and teaches how to reach out and help
those in need, both nearby and far away.
