The Masters School community joined
together to produce an extraordinary Benefit Concert
and Auction in support of the victims of the December
tsunami disaster. Altogether, more than $7,000 was raised
to support My Helping Hands, an organization in India
that supports families and children.
The concert included almost thirty
acts ranging from the full glee club to several A Capella
groups; a math teacher who played guitar and sang a
song he'd written about adversity; and a host of individuals
and groups of singers and musicians who offered up classical,
jazz, rap, and pop performances.
Proceeds from the sale of baked goods,
jewelry made by middle schoolers, and student art and
an auction of goods and services augmented the proceeds.
