On
June 11, 2005, family, friends, guests, and faculty
gathered on graduation terrace to witness the graduation
ceremony for the 78 members of the class of 2005.
We
were honored to have Madame Young-Shin GP'05
to present the commencement address. Chairperson of
the Aekyung Group, an international conglomerate she
has headed since 1972 and one of Korea’s foremost
women business owners, she is also the grandmother of
a member of the class of 2005.
In her remarks to the graduates, Head
of School Maureen Fonseca challenged
them to think about the following question: “What
will you pack up and take with you and what will you
leave behind as you move on beyond the walls of The
Masters School?”
Senior
class co-presidents, Elizabeth Gross and Thomas
Robinson, who addressed their classmates that
day, had been thinking about this very question. Each
observed that although they were moving away from the
school, they would always remain members of The Masters
School community. They noted that their years here have
represented so much more than a solid academic preparation
for college.
The graduates are now heading to a wide array of excellent
colleges and universities, and we wish them all the
very best of luck!
