On June 8, 2005, outside stately Estherwood
Mansion, family, friends and faculty witnessed thirty-five
eighth graders graduate in a simple, elegant, and meaningful
ceremony.
“It
was a warm and happy graduation,” remarked Everett
(Doc) Wilson, head of Middle School. “The lovely
afternoon was the perfect closure to a year of many
changes and challenges to which the students admirably
adapted.”
In their addresses, designated eighth
grade spokespersons, Andrew Hall and Jasmine Broadnax,
each spoke about rising to the academic challenges,
forming deep friendships, and learning valuable life
skills and lessons at the Middle School. They also thanked
and acknowledged the committed and caring teachers for
preparing them so well to move on—and up!
Among
the graduates, fifteen students were honored with Middle
School awards. Click below to read more about The Middle
School.
