Students Win Awards
At Yale Model United Nations

After much hard work and
in-depth research, thirty-seven students from The Masters School represented Singapore, Sweden, and Pakistan at the Yale Model United Nations held in late January at Yale University.

Five students received awards at the conference. Peter Hick ’07, president of The Masters School Model U.N. club, was named Outstanding Delegate for his role as Sir Hugh Dowding, RAF Fighter Commander, at a meeting of the 1940s British Historical Cabinet. Paul Shakotko ’07 received an Honorable Mention for his work representing Sweden at the European Union. John McAuliff ’10 received an Honorable Mention for his role as the Fundraising Director for the 2012 Democratic Presidential Convention.

In addition, Anastasia Shiyanova ’07 was awarded a Verbal Commendation for representing the Islamic Dawa Party in the Iraqi Constitutional Drafting Committee. And a Verbal Commendation went to Katy Drury ’08 for representing Sweden in the United Nations Development Programme.

Congratulations to all for a job well done!
